For a variety of reasons, some boat owners find it difficult to maintain their boats as
they would like to have them maintained. Often, other responsibilities make it difficult to
spend the necessary time on a regular and on going basis. In other cases, it could be a
situation where the owner is not living in the San Diego Area. Often the result is that
time actually spent by an owner on their boat is not as enjoyable as it could have been.
Quality Marine Services offers a Maintenance Program that is designed to address this
problem. Our Service Program will reduce the incidents of problems that occur when
enjoying a boat dockside or while under way.
All Maintenance Programs are customized to reflect the needs of the owner. The
Program starts with a working Checklist that we add items to and delete items from
until we arrive at a scope of work that makes sense for the individual owner and his
vessel. The Program is not only customized as to what is included on the finalized
Checklist, but the frequency of service calls is agreed upon. Our reporting is also
customized. Some clients request only a written report. In other situations, a verbal
report with written follow up is requested. In all cases, we attempt to immediately
contact owners in any situation that affects the safety of the vessel, or in our view
would make it inadvisable to take the vessel to sea.
With the owners cooperation, we can often coordinate the completion of maintenance
requests at the same time the inspection is taking place. This can result in a savings
for owners in some instances. We always encourage owners to contact us following
time spent on their boat when they identify concerns they would like us to address.
